About EMT Index
EMT Index was built for one thing: helping EMT-Basic students pass the NREMT exam the first time. We don't sell test-prep filler. We don't pad our materials with motivational fluff. Every product we publish is a focused reference tool organized like an index for the way EMS professionals actually think under pressure.
Flashcards are our first release. Cheat sheets, workbooks, and coloring books are next. Alongside the catalog, emtindex.org will host a growing library of free NREMT study resources: protocol references, mnemonics, exam guides, and study plans available at no cost.
The name says it. An index is comprehensive. An index is organized. An index helps you find exactly what you need, fast. That's how we approach NREMT prep: strip out everything that doesn't help you pass, then organize what's left so you can find it cold.
EMT Index is independent and student-focused. We are not affiliated with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
What Is the NREMT Exam?
The NREMT, or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, is the certifying body for EMS providers in the United States. Most states require NREMT certification to work as an Emergency Medical Technician.
The NREMT EMT cognitive exam is a computer-adaptive test covering five content areas: Airway, Respiration & Ventilation; Cardiology & Resuscitation; Trauma; Medical, Obstetrics & Gynecology; and EMS Operations. Roughly 85 percent of questions focus on adult patients and 15 percent on pediatric patients.
The exam ranges from 70 to 120 questions depending on the candidate's performance, and most students complete it in under two hours. A passing result reflects competence at the entry level for safe and effective patient care.
EMT Index flashcards cover every content domain on the exam.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is EMT Index?
EMT Index is a brand of NREMT exam preparation for EMT-Basic students. We publish flashcards, cheat sheets, workbooks, and coloring books aligned to the current NREMT examination specifications. The website will also host free study resources at no cost.
Are EMT Index flashcards aligned with the NREMT exam?
Yes. Every card in the EMT Index NREMT flashcard deck is mapped to the April 2025 NREMT EMT examination specifications. No filler. No off-topic material.
Who are these NREMT flashcards for?
EMT-Basic students preparing for the NREMT certification exam: community college EMT programs, vocational training, military medic tracks, and career changers entering EMS.
When will EMT Index flashcards be available?
The EMT Index NREMT flashcard deck is launching soon on Amazon. Check back at emtindex.org for the launch announcement.
How should I use NREMT flashcards to study?
Work through every card once to identify your weak spots. Then focus your repeat sessions on the cards you missed. Short, daily sessions of 20 to 40 cards a day, six days a week, outperform marathon cram sessions every time. Use the cards alongside your EMT course materials, not as a replacement for clinical practice.
How long does it take to prepare for the NREMT exam?
Most EMT students complete a 120 to 200 hour course before testing, with two to four weeks of focused review before the exam. EMT Index flashcards are built for that final review window: high-density, fast recall, exam-aligned.
What is the NREMT EMT exam pass rate?
National first-attempt pass rates for the NREMT EMT cognitive exam typically sit in the mid-60s to low-70s percent. Most candidates who do not pass on the first attempt pass within three attempts. The right study materials make a measurable difference.
Where can I buy EMT Index flashcards?
EMT Index NREMT flashcards will be available on Amazon. The launch is coming soon. Check back at emtindex.org for the announcement.
